I will continue to fight to protect that your tax dollars are properly used, promote truth growth in our community, and ensure we are prepared for future growth. As we see the Suncoast Parkway expand into Citrus County, we need to be diligent in our efforts to ensure more well-paying jobs are introduced as well as a protection of the surrounding environment.
Clean our Community
Worked to Increase penalties for illegal dumping, began the conversation on civil citations.
Promoted a culture of clean, an educational platform about littering.
Fought to increase the number of Veterans Service Officers and got AEDs in some VFWs & American Legion Posts.
Fought for Growth
Made the disposal of surplus lands a priority, to create more taxpayers.
Worked to bring a $50,000 grant to WTC helping people get access to careers in the trades.
Championed ordinances to improve the community.
Reduce Red Tape & Waste
Worked with the Citrus County business community to facilitate a bidding workshop about government contracts.
Pushed staff to create a formula for road repaving with helping to save millions of taxpayer dollars.
A Servant’s Heart
I, Jimmie T. Smith, have had the privilege to be the reliable, steady, conservative you have come to rely on in Citrus County. I grew up here and served 20 years in the U.S. Army, being deployed several times overseas. I was proud to serve as our State Representative in the State Capitol and currently serve as our County Commissioner. My wife, Vickie, daughter, Gabriella, and I are proud Citrus County residents.
